What it’s like to work with CK Power
At CK Power, we do more than just manufacture and distribute off-highway power products. We listen to each client’s application requirements and provide the best-fit power solution in the shortest lead time possible.
Sometimes that means making minor customizations to an existing product from our catalog, such as equipping a prime power generator for a construction site with a long run-time fuel tank, auxiliary distribution and a sound-attenuated enclosure. Other times, it means custom-engineering a hybrid power system to charge a fleet of electric buses.
But generally speaking, every project we do can be split into one of two categories:

- Receive specs for a product aligned to the performance and usability requirements of your application.
-
3
Collaborate
Step 3:Collaborate to refine the specs
Next, we’ll collaborate with your procurement team to refine the specs, making sure the product meets all the requirements of your application while remaining within budget. Here, we’ll work back to the essentials until we’re at — or under — your budget. You should expect to ...
- Receive expert guidance on what’s absolutely necessary for your application and what’s not, until we land on the power solution that both meets your application needs and hits your ideal price point.
-

Understand
Step 1:Understand your application problem
We take a collaborative approach to engineering custom products — and our engineers will work directly with your application engineers throughout the process. To make sure we’re all on the same page, we’ll first gather as much information from your team about your application and its challenges. These initial conversations allow us to have a holistic understanding of the problem before launching full-speed into developing solutions. You should expect ...
- A response within 24 hours of reaching out to us.
- To work directly with our engineering team, as they aim to quickly understand your application problem.
-
2
Engineer & iterate
Step 2:Engineer and iterate
Once we understand your application problem, we’ll begin to collaborate with your team to develop potential solutions. We’ll start with the simplest design that overcomes your application challenge, incorporating your feedback and modifying the design until we land on a solution that precisely meets your needs. You should expect ...
- Consistent and transparent communication from our team regarding our progress.
- Ample opportunity to give feedback and add insight before, during and after each design iteration.
- To receive all the material required to show what the product is going to look like and how it’s going to function: Engineering drawings, integrated drawings and any required supporting materials.
-
3
Manage
Step 3:Manage relationships
For custom-engineered projects, we’ll often have to partner with third-party experts to build aspects of the product. We might need to source a special-built enclosure from a power components company, a 50-ton trailer from heavy-haul trailer company or another custom-designed component of the overall solution. But similar to design-build construction, we’ll manage all relationships with any third-party experts and serve as your single point of contact for the project. You should expect ...
- Third-party experts to be looped in as necessary to build aspects of the product.
- To have us manage all third-party relationships and take single-source responsibility for the success of the overall project.
-
4
Deliver
Step 4:Deliver
This step is simple — we’ll deliver your custom-engineered project, exactly as specified, in as short a lead time as possible. It took just six months from initial conversation to delivery for our team to engineer some of the first Tier 4 Final gens sets in North America. And we designed and delivered hybrid battery charging containers in just four months. You should expect ...
- Clear communication from our team about when to expect your products to be delivered.
- Us to deliver your products in the manner you’d prefer — whether that means transporting them to your doorstep or having you pick them up at our facility.
-
5
Train
Step 5:Train
We’ll train your team on how to use your custom power products. And we’ll be on call if questions arise while you’re rolling out these units. You should expect ...
- A video or in-person training session — whichever you’d prefer.
- To have a dedicated support contact on call, ready to answer any question or address any issue.
-
6
Help
Step 6:Help you through cradle-to-grave support and service
We stand behind every custom solution we sell, and offer product support, preventative maintenance and replacement parts to make sure it continues running like new for years to come. You should expect to ...
- Receive all the support and service you need to maintain your products and minimize downtime.
- Have a dedicated product support contact who will address all your post-purchase needs.
- Be treated the same whether you bought your products yesterday or 20 years ago, with a response within 24 hours and transparent communication until your question is answered or your problem is solved.
